Do you know what are the differences between estimate and estimation?

An estimate is an approximate calculation or evaluation, and an estimation is the process of approximately calculating or evaluating. So an estimate is the result of estimation.

Off the top of my head, I can only say that there are some phrases that simply go with either 'estimation' or 'estimate'. For example, "statistical estimation" and not "statistical estimate"

estimate is a verb and estimation is a noun. estimate (verb) = calculate roughly estimation (noun)= rough calculation. If you know what a verb and noun is you should be able to use them properly.

I would talk a bit on the title of your post.  It concerns the difference between the word "advance" and "advanced".  "Advance" is to look at the timeline, which indicates (something was done) ahead of time.  For example, "advance purchase", "advance programme".  The purchase is made in advance of the sales.  The programme is announced in advance of the final programme.

What i learnt from my friend is that "estimate" can also be used as a noun. Is it ok to ask people for example "Before we take place this year end party, may i know your estimate of the budget?" ?
